This comedy show aims to keep listeners tuned in by helping them to escape from the working week with content that is both side-splittingly funny and thought-provokingly intriguing. From playing on-air radio games like 'Fill in the blank, you blanking little blank' to, debating whether social media is taking over young people's lives, this show wants to interact with the audience of Stevenage. With this in mind, the show will constantly investigate the latest news in the town, including looking at the football teams around Hertfordshire including Stevenage FC and Hitchin Town FC. Original, silly, hilarious and informative are just a few words future listeners will be using to describe Sessions with Sean Fitzgerald on SG1 Radio.
Hi, I'm Sean and you're probably already reading this in a radio broadcaster's voice. If you are not, then that's absolutely fine as well. Anyway! I'm 25 years old and I've lived in Stevenage for nearly all of my life. Admittedly, I did briefly tear myself away from the town to live in Leicester to study at university and to work for the county's award winning radio station Demon FM. My love for radio hasn't stopped from that moment and since then, I have gone on to commentate on football and rugby at Welford Road stadium, interview Teddy Sheringham and Claudio Ranieri, but most importantly, host radio-style game shows like 'fill in the blank, you blanking little blank' on podcasts like Sessions available on SoundCloud.
Mind Over Matter with Matt will inform, encourage and inspire you to look after your
mental health using open conversation and and an eclectic mix of music to warm your soul.
About show and music:
I will be speaking about mental health, encouraging listeners to participate and inviting guests on the show to talk about their journey with mental health and what they do to care for their minds. The music played will be inspirational and motivational using my own favourites and songs suggested by listeners and guests.
About me (1 short paragraph)
I'm a 41 year old husband and father of four. I live in the Old Town of Stevenage and have done so for the last 7 years after moving from North London.
I'm an avid radio listener which is helped by the time I have to listen when driving across the country in my current job as a trainer in the Water Industry.
My main passion these days apart from my lovely family is raising awareness on mental health issues and helping to abolish the stigma that still exists. I do this by being open with everyone about my own battle's with a lesser understood form of OCD which I've suffered with since i was eight years old.
